Asurini (Asuriní)

"Asurini" is a name that is often used for some of the Tupian tribes of Brazil, particularly the Awaete (also known as Asurini do Xingu) and Akwaya (also known as Asurini do Tocantins.) The name Asurini was given to them by a neighboring tribe and means "red people" (referring to red paint used by the Asurini tribe.)
