Breechclout

"Breechclout" is an alternate spelling of breechcloth. In the past, some anthropologists used the two words differently, so that breechclouts could be made of any material but breechcloths were made only of cloth. We don't know of any Native Americans who have ever made such a distinction.

For more information and pictures of breechclouts, see our breechcloth webpage.
