Frentones
"Frentones" is a Spanish name given to several tribes of the Gran Chaco area, including the
Toba, Mascoi, Abipon, and Mocovi. "Frentón" means "big forehead" in Spanish; the Spanish
gave them this name because people in these tribes traditionally wore their hair shaved high in
front, making their foreheads appear larger.
