Timbira (Timbiras)
"Timbira" is a general cultural and linguistic name referring to a group of related tribes of Brazil, including the
Canela, Kraho, Krikati, and Kreye tribes. Apinaye is sometimes also included among the Timbira tribes even
though their language is significantly different from the others. Sometimes Apinaye is referred to as "Western
Timbira," while the others are referred to as "Eastern Timbira."
