Ho-Chunk Indian Language (Hocak, Hocąk, Winnebago)
Hochunk is a Siouan language of the Great Lakes,
spoken today by only a few dozen people in Wisconsin and Nebraska.
The language had been in decline, but a vigorous Hochunk revival program is helping young people
to learn their ancestral language again.
