Machiguenga Counting Worksheet

Like most Arawakan languages, Machiguenga does not have many number words (really only three.) The Machiguenga word for four, tovaini, literally just means "many" and can be used to refer to any group larger than three. The word for "five" is simply the word for "hand." Today, most Machiguenga speakers use borrowed Spanish numbers (seis, siete, etc.) to count higher than three.
