A Cherokee Granddaughter
Q: My Grandmother was a full blooded Cherokee
Indian. I have always wanted to know how to speak
our language. I was wandering if you have any tapes
or CDs that we could buy and listen to so we know if
we are pronouncing the words right. I am interested
in buying one if you do. I would like to teach my
daughter the Cherokee language because I know that
the way of our ancestors are slowly fading away. So
if you have any CDs or tapes just let me know.
A: Thanks for writing. We don't sell
language materials ourselves, but one very good
Cherokee audio course for beginners is
Introduction to Cherokee.
If you like it well there is a second one in the
series too, Intermediate Cherokee.
Hope that helps!
