American State Names
Q: What American state is not named after a Native American
language?
Sponsored Links
A: All the ones that are named after places in England
(New York, New Jersey, etc.) or after European or American people
(Georgia, Washington, Louisiana, etc.) There are also
some state names that come from Spanish (Colorado,
Florida, etc.), and two state names, Idaho and California,
which were made up and have no meaning.
Hope that helps!
