Like most Panoan languages, Capanahua does not have many number words (really only four.) It is possible to count to high numbers in Capanahua, but only by using long compound words combining the words for one through four with "hand" (pichca.) Today, most Capanahua speakers use Spanish numerals to count higher than five.
