Like most Jivaroan languages, Huambisa does not have many number words (really only four.) It is possible to count to high numbers in Huambisa, but only by using long compound words combining the words for one through four with "hand" (uwej.) Today, most Huambisa people use Spanish numerals to count higher than five.
