What's new on our site today!

Welcome to our Chiwere vocabulary page! Chiwere, also known as Ioway-Otoe-Missouri after its three main dialects, is a Siouan language, related to other languages like Ho Chunk and Lakota. We have included twenty basic Ioway and Otoe words here, to compare with related American Indian languages. If you need to know a Chiwere word that is not currently on our page, you can take part in our Indian translations fundraiser or visit our main Iowa-Otoe-Missouria language site for more free resources.
