Shasta Indian Language
Shasta was a native language spoken until recently in Northern California.
Some linguists consider it part of the larger Hokan language family.
Though the last fluent speakers have passed on, there remain several Shasta elders who remember some of their people's language, and some
young people are working to revive the Shasta language again.
