Tabasco Chontal (Yocot'an)

Chontal of Tabasco is a Mayan language not to be confused with the Hokan language Chontal of Oaxaca, to which it bears no similarity other than a similar name bestowed upon both by the Aztecs (chontalli just means "foreigner" in the Nahuatl language.) Tabasco Chontal is spoken by more than 50,000 people in Mexico today.
