Copalis Indian Language
The Copalis Indians were a small tribe of Washington state, relatives of the
Chehalis Indians
and speakers of a Lower Chehalis language. The Copalis no longer exist as a distinct
tribe. Most Copalis people merged into the neighboring
Quinault tribe, where
most of their descendants still live today. Other people of Copalis descent live on the
Chehalis reservation.
