Chugach Alutiiq (Chugachmiut, Chugach Sugpiaq)
Chugach is the name of one of the dialects of the Alutiiq language. Chugach, spelled Cuungaaciq in Alutiiq, is
actually a placename, referring to several islands in Alutiiq territory. The Chugach Alutiiq dialect
is spoken on the Chugach Islands and the neighboring part of the Kenai Peninsula.
