Kodiak (Kodiaks, Kodiak Alutiiq, Kodiak Island Sugpiaq)
Kodiak is the name of one of the dialects of the Alutiiq language. Kodiak, spelled Koniag in Alutiiq, is
actually a placename, referring to a large island in Alutiiq territory. The Kodiak Alutiiq dialect
is spoken on Kodiak Island and the neighboring part of the Alaska Peninsula.
