Winula
Winula (pronounced wee-NOO-lah) is a Lakota Sioux kinship term for the first-born
daughter. Many Lakota people no longer use this term, instead using the word winunna (or
winonna), which is a borrowing from the neighboring and closely related Yankton and Dakota
Sioux tribes.
