These are pictures of two lamps with figures of a Native American couple on the base.
From the sculpture style, it is doubtful that the artist is Native American but he may have used Native
American models. Does anyone have any information about these lamps?
Solved: Thanks to Jenny Strong for the answer. These lamps were made by Apsit Brothers of California.
They were made during the 1970's and 80's, were made of casting plaster and hand-painted. The brothers do not
seem to have been Native American, they just liked to work with Western themes (which included statues of
Native Americans as well as cowboys, stagecoaches, etc.) Some other examples of their work can be found
Thanks for the help! If anyone has more information about these lamps or the people depicted on them
please contact the owner. Thank you!
