Me-chet-sa

This is a picture of a portrait of an Osage man identified as "ME-CHET-SA." Does anyone recognize either the name or the picture? I'm guessing the man's name began with Mi, "sun," as many traditional Osage names do; but beyond that I'm stumped. He was presumably a warrior since his hair is roached.

Partially identified: We still do not have any solid information about this man or his name, but we have identified the original source of this portrait: this 1903 newspaper article, which indeed identifies him as an Osage warrior (of the Hominy clan) and gives his name as "Charley Me-Chet-Sa." (The accompanying article is certainly rather... dated... so read it at your own peril!)

Anyone with more information please email me or the owner of the artwork. Thanks!
