Mitchikanabikong First Nation
"Mitchikanabikong" is the Native name of one of the Algonquin First Nations of Quebec, better known as
Barriere Lake First Nation. Mitchikanabikong literally means "by the stone barrier," and is the source of the
French and English names of the lake, Barriere.
The Mitchikanabikong Algonquins speak a Northern Algonquin dialect.
