Moro
"Moro" is an alternate name for the Ayoreo tribe of South America. This is not an indigenous name at all, but is the Spanish word for "Moor,"
a medieval Muslim civilization of North Africa, Spain, and Italy.
Spanish colonists called them this because of some perceived similarity between the Ayoreos and the Moors-- possibly their reputation as fierce
fighters.
