Nehiraw (Nehirowisiw)
"Nehiraw" or "Nehirowisiw" is an alternate name for the Atikamekw tribe. It literally means "Indian" or "Indian person"
in the Atikamekw language.
Nehirowisiwok is the plural form. Some people in the neighboring Montagnais tribe have also used Nehiraw to refer to themselves,
although Innu is the native name much more commonly used by that group.
