Talamanca (Talamancas)

"Talamanca" is an alternate name for the Bribri tribe of Costa Rica and Panama. It comes from the name of the Talamanca Mountain Range of Central America, which is part of the traditional Bribri territory. Many Bribri people still live in this region today. The phrase "Talamanca Cabecar" is sometimes used to refer to a neighboring group of Cabecar Indians who also live in this region.
