Temiskamink
"Temiskamink" is one of several English versions of an Algonquin place name, Temikaming, which means "by the deep waters."
Since Algonquin was not traditionally a written language, the spellings of Algonquin words in European languages sometimes vary a lot.
The spelling "Temiskamink" can be found in historical documents, but is rarely used today.
The Temiskamink Algonquins speak a Northern Algonquin dialect.
