Napochi Indian Tribe
The Napochi Indians were a Muskogean
tribe of Alabama, relatives of the Chickasaw and
Choctaw tribes.
They were sometimes also known as the Napochee. The Napochi no longer exist as a distinct
tribe. They are believed to have merged into the Chickasaw and/or Acolapissa tribes. Most Napochi descendants
probably live among the Choctaws and Chickasaws today.
Their language was never properly recorded, but was clearly closely related to Choctaw and Chickasaw.
