Language: Opón-Carare was a Cariban language once spoken in Colombia. It may have been most closely related to the Yukpa language. The Opón and Carare people lived in two distinct tribes (which were often at war with each other), and it is not clear whether they spoke dialects of a single language or two separate but related languages. Neither variety has been spoken since the mid-1900's, and few records of them remain.
