Sawokli Indian Tribe
The Sawokli Indians were a Muskogean
tribe of Alabama, relatives of the Mikasuki and
Alabama tribes.
The Sawokli no longer exist as a distinct tribe. Most of them merged into the Seminole tribe,
where their descendants remain today.
The Sawokli language was never properly
recorded, but was probably a dialect of Mikasuki or a closely related language.
