Huilliche Indian Language (Williche)
Huilliche is an Araucanian language of Chile.
Although the Huilliche indigenous community is vibrant with more than 15,000 members, their language is
almost lost, with only a few dozen elders still able to speak Huilliche. Huilliche is an
agglutinative language
with complex verbs. It is closely related to the better known
Mapuche language, and some linguists
consider it to be a divergent dialect of Mapuche.
