Names: Yuqui was their name in the language of a neighboring tribe; they call themselves Mbia, meaning "the people,"
but since the same word is used by the much larger Guarani tribe, they are often called Yuqui or Yuqui Mbia to differentiate them.
Alternate spellings of these names include Yuki, Yuquí, Yukí, Mbiá, Bia, and Biá. They call their language Mbiaye', Biá yë', or Biaye.
