Niisitapiikwan (Niitsítapiikoan, Niitsitapiikoan)
"Niisitapiikwan" is an alternate name for the Blackfoot tribe. It means "original man" in the Blackfoot language.
Most Blackfoot people today use this word to refer to a Native American in general, not only to their own tribe,
so it is not commonly used as a tribal name.
Alternate spellings of this term include Niitsítapiikoan, Niitsitapiikoan, and Niitsitapiikoana.
