Tepehuan is a Uto-Aztecan language of central Mexico,
not to be confused with the Totonacan language Tepehua.
Three dialects of the language, Northern Tepehuan, Southeastern Tepehuan, and Southwestern Tepehuan, are so different from
each other that they are considered separate languages by many linguists. Taken together, the Tepehuan languages are spoken by about
25,000 people.
